Barrier and Moisture Benefits

Ceramide lipids support products designed to reinforce the skin barrier, improve moisturization and reduce dry feel.

A Format for Each Formula

Move from high-purity powder to water-dispersible concentrates or a transparent oil solution without treating every ceramide type the same.

Human-Use Data Available

3% AC-Ceramide SANIO 1236 cream (2-4 weeks, n=14) significantly enhanced skin barrier, radiance, and elasticity, while reducing redness and wrinkles.

Type Selector

Compare the Five Ceramide Types

Choose by the problem you need to solve: active concentration, water dispersibility, multi-ceramide composition or oil-phase clarity.

Ceramide NP Powder Ceramide NP powder with HPLC assay ≥95% and melting point 98-103°C. Suggested use level: 0.05-0.5%; dissolve in the oil phase at 85-95°C and avoid rapid cooling.
AC-Ceramide NP SANIO Water-dispersible liposomal format with Ceramide NP 5.0 ±0.5%. Suggested use level: 1-10%; add below 45°C with gentle mixing when a cool-down aqueous route is preferred.
AC-Ceramide FLUX 136 Multi-ceramide concentrate with Ceramide NP, AP and EOP. AP ≥0.5%, NP ≥1.0% and EOP ≥0.001%; use the type-specific TDS when setting the final use level.
AC-Ceramide SANIO 1236 Multi-ceramide concentrate containing Ceramide NP/AP/NG/EOP with total active 20%. Suggested use level: 0.5-6%; suited to barrier-care formulas seeking a four-ceramide blend.
AC-Ceramide OS 6 Transparent oil-phase solution containing Ceramide NP, NG, AP, EOP, AS and NS. Designed to bring a six-ceramide blend into oil-based skincare and color cosmetics.

Performance

Barrier and Moisture Results for SANIO 1236

In a human-use evaluation, 14 volunteers used a cream containing 3% AC-Ceramide SANIO 1236. Measurements were taken after two and four weeks; the results below are specific to that test formula.

Measured change after four weeks in the 3% SANIO 1236 cream study (p < 0.001).

+36.70%

Cheek Gloss

Measured change after four weeks in the same 14-participant study (p < 0.001).

+29.15%

Cheek Elasticity

R5 elasticity change after four weeks in the tested cream (p < 0.001).

Reinforce Barrier-Care Positioning

Build products around moisture retention, skin comfort and a stronger-looking barrier.

Reduce Dry, Rough Feel

Use ceramide lipids in formulas designed to improve softness and relieve the feel of dryness.

Avoid a One-Format Compromise

Select powder, dispersible concentrate or oil solution according to the formula rather than forcing one process across every product.

Cover More Product Textures

The range supports serums, emulsions, rich creams, anhydrous oils and color cosmetics.

Application

Ceramide Type Selection and Processing Guide

Each format solves a different formulation problem, so temperature, phase and oil compatibility must follow the selected type.

  1. Match the type to the phase Use NP Powder for hot oil-phase dissolution, NP SANIO for a cool-down water-dispersible route, a multi-ceramide concentrate for blended lipid delivery, or OS 6 for the oil phase.
  2. Respect the temperature route Dissolve NP Powder at 85-95°C and avoid rapid cooling; add NP SANIO below 45°C with gentle mixing.
  3. Screen OS 6 against the oil blend At 5% under room-temperature conditions in a one-month screen, caprylic/capric triglyceride (GTCC), wheat germ oil and jojoba oil maintained clarity, while squalane, ININ and 6 cSt dimethicone showed higher precipitation or turbidity risk.
  4. Check the finished texture Monitor clarity, crystallization, viscosity, phase stability and packaging throughout the full stability program.

Formula Systems to Evaluate

The OS 6 compatibility results are specific to a 5% addition and one-month storage screen; confirm the exact oil blend and temperature cycle in the finished formula.

Comparing Ceramide NP powder with a ceramide blend

Compare like-for-like content: the Ceramide NP assay of a powder, the Ceramide NP content of a dispersion and the total ceramide content of a multi-ceramide blend describe different quantities. For FLUX 136, SANIO 1236 and OS 6, keep the individual ceramide names separate from the complete INCI list, which also identifies the other formulation components.

Water-dispersible does not mean that Ceramide NP itself becomes water-soluble. Use the supplied format and its handling instructions when choosing the addition phase. The Ceramide NP ingredient-versus-blend calculation explains how to distinguish raw-material addition from the amount of NP delivered to a formula.

FAQ

Ceramide Series FAQ

Decision-focused answers for selecting the right ceramide composition and delivery route.

Which ceramide type should I choose?

Choose NP Powder for a high-purity oil-phase route, NP SANIO for a water-dispersible liposomal format, FLUX 136 or SANIO 1236 for multi-ceramide concentrates, and OS 6 for oil-phase development.

How should Ceramide NP Powder be processed?

Use 0.05-0.5% as the suggested range, dissolve it in the oil phase at 85-95°C, avoid rapid cooling and check for crystallization in the finished formula.

How should NP SANIO be added?

Use 1-10% as the suggested range. Add below 45°C with gentle mixing and verify dispersion and stability in the complete formula.

What human-use data are available for SANIO 1236?

A cream containing 3% AC-Ceramide SANIO 1236 was evaluated by 14 volunteers over two and four weeks. The reported measures include cheek water loss, gloss and elasticity; request the complete report for methods and all endpoints.

Which oils showed the best clarity with OS 6?

In a 5% one-month screen, caprylic/capric triglyceride (GTCC), wheat germ oil and jojoba oil remained clear across the tested temperatures. Squalane and ININ had moderate risk, while 6 cSt dimethicone showed high turbidity and precipitation risk.

What should I request before selecting a type?

Request the current TDS, SDS/MSDS, complete INCI, specification, recent COA, compatibility guidance, sample, MOQ and quotation.
