Improved active solubility
Helps dissolve compatible actives and distribute them through a formulation.
High-Purity Formulation Solvent
INCI name: Dimethyl Isosorbide
CAS No. 5306-85-4
SOLVENT SUPPORT FOR HARD-TO-DISSOLVE ACTIVES
AC-DMI is a liquid solvent that enhances the solubility of poorly soluble active ingredients. It dissolves a wide range of components, increases skin penetration, boosts the efficacy of active ingredients, and provides a non-greasy, elegant skin feel. It is ideally suited for high-performance serums, toners, and personal care formulations.

FAQ
AC-DMI (Dimethyl Isosorbide) is a liquid solvent used to improve the solubility of poorly soluble active ingredients. It can be used in active premixes, serums, toners and emulsions.
AC-DMI is miscible with water and most organic solvents. It can be used with polyols such as glycerin and with ethanol. Compatibility with the complete formulation should be checked at the intended concentrations.
The amount of AC-DMI depends on the active ingredient, its target concentration and the other solvents in the formula. Choose a level that dissolves the active, then check that it remains dissolved after incorporation and during storage.
AC-DMI can be used to prepare an active premix before incorporation into the formula. Check solubility in AC-DMI or the intended solvent blend, then mix the premix into the formulation and check for precipitation after dilution.
For formulation development, use pH 3–7 and a processing temperature no higher than 80°C as starting conditions. The active ingredient and the complete formulation may require a narrower processing range.
Avoid combining AC-DMI with strong oxidizing agents, such as hydrogen peroxide.
AC-DMI helps dissolve active ingredients and can influence their distribution between the formulation and skin. The effect depends on the active and the complete solvent system; greater solubility does not necessarily mean greater skin delivery.
