Enzyme Technology

AC-α-Arbutin is a potent skin-brightening agent. As a hydroquinone glucoside featuring an α-glucosyl bond, it is synthesized through specialized enzyme-driven biotechnology. This enzyme-based process ensures high specificity, eliminates side reactions, and is free from heavy metals (HM-free) during oxidation, while remaining environmentally friendly.

AC-α-Arbutin penetrates the skin rapidly and selectively inhibits tyrosinase activity. It is widely used in premium skincare formulations, including brightening serums, sunscreens, anti-aging creams, and BB/CC creams.

FAQ

Q1: What are the key points to note when applying AC-α-arbutin in formulations?

A1: AC-α-arbutin is easily soluble in water. It is recommended to pre-disperse with glycerol or propylene glycol solvent and then dissolve it in the aqueous phase. α- Arbutin is prone to decomposition in acidic environments.  Therefore, in creams, lotions and other formulations, the pH value should be controlled at around 5-7 to avoid strong acid and strong alkali environments.

Q2: What are the main benefits of AC-α-arbutin?

A2: AC-α-arbutin directly inhibits tyrosinase activity and effectively blocks melanin production. Its whitening effect is about 10 times that of β-arbutin. α-Arbutin has no negative effects on cell growth and is therefore safer.
