DESCRIPTION

1,2-Hexanediol is almost colorless, tasteless and can effectively locks in skin moisture, reduces transdermal moisture loss, and increases skin moisture content. Acting as a non-conventional preservative, it helps to reduce the concentration of traditional or alternative preservatives by
boosting their anti-microbial activity, then it can be used in combination with low-dose preservatives such as phenoxyethanol and acid preservatives such as sorbic acid, benzoic acid and sodium dehydroacetate and purport to contain no p-hydroxybenzoate. It can also be used
to protect formulations in the absence of conventional preservatives.
Above all, 1,2-Hexanediol is an excellent humectant, preservative and antiseptic synergist and can be used in a variety of cosmetic formulations, especially suitable for baby cosmetics and sensitive skin.
